If you’re not one of us crazy people doing a 20 mile race on the 20th March then here’s a suggestion, why not run a mile race with a legend and visit the Manchester Run Expo at the same time. The race director, Steve Cram, is an  gold World Championship medallist, has two gold at the European Championships, has three gold Common Wealth Games, a Olympic silver medal in track and is putting on a mile race for all abilities at the Manchester Run Expo.

At 2016’s Run Expo, visitors will have the chance to take part in a one mile running event which is the first of its kind – an indoor race on an 800m track, within the exhibition halls!

The event – RUN LIKE A LEGEND – will see over 2000 runners take part in their very own Dream Mile. On a specially-designed course within the confines of Event City, this two lap route will add a whole new dimension to the Expo that’s unlike any other running event in the UK.

As Course Director and former Mile World Record holder, Steve Cram brings a wealth of experience to the event and is challenging all visitors to the Expo to ‘find their fast’ and come and test their ability over this iconic distance, in front of thousands of spectators lining the indoor route, snaking its way around the Expo. Whether you’re a budding 4 minute miler or testing yourself for the first time over the most historic of distances, we challenge you to RUN LIKE A LEGEND.

The race costs £24 (£12 for 7 to 15 year olds) and for that you get chip timing, a medal, a technical Nike t-shirt and free entry into the Run Expo on the same day (worth £10).

Run Like a Legend takes place on the 20th March (I’m guessing with phased start times if there’s 2000 runners) and the Run Expo (Part of the Swim, Bike, Run, Tri Expo) runs from the the 18th to the 20th March.  Both at EventCity in Manchester.
